The Women<\/h3>\n<p>Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, Salome and<br \/>\nLuke (24:10) implies Joanna, and other women also<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mary Magdalene went to the tomb prior to the other women, while it was still dark (John 20:1)<\/li>\n<li>The other women mentioned here came at the rising of the Sun (Mark 16:2)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Eyewitness Accounts (11 documented accounts)<br \/>\n1st two appearances were to Women<br \/>\nThe four gospels name women as the first witnesses to discover the empty tomb \u2013 in ancient culture, female testimony in important matters was widely dismissed<\/p>\n<h3>2. The Stone Rolled Away \u2013 Mark 16:3, 4<\/h3>\n<p>The stone would have weighted 1 \u00bd to 2 tons<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mark doesn\u2019t mention that after Jesus was laid in the tomb, a guard had inspected the tomb, the stone had been rolled into place that according to Matthew 27:66 the stone was sealed. This sealing was a cord stretched across the rock and fastened at either end with sealing clay<\/li>\n<li>The clay packs were stamped with the official signet of the Roman governor<\/li>\n<li>The seal gave warning that the tomb was under Roman protection<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>3. An Unexpected Visitor \u2013 Mark 16:.5-7<\/h3>\n<p>A. His Description:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A young man<\/li>\n<li>Clothed in a long white garment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>B. His Message:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t be afraid (vs.6a)<\/li>\n<li>Confirmation of the crucifixion (vs.6b)<\/li>\n<li>Announces \u2013 \u201cHe is risen\u201d (vs.6c)<\/li>\n<li>Invites their inspection (6d)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Verse 7<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Go tell his disciples, and Peter<\/li>\n<li>He is risen<\/li>\n<li>You will see Him in Galilee<\/li>\n<li>He has said this to you<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>4. Empty Tomb \u2013 Mark 16:6<\/h3>\n<p>A. The broken seal and stone rolled away \u2013 John 20:1; Matthew 27:65, 66<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The seal gave warning that the tomb was under Roman protection<\/li>\n<li>The stone would have weighted 1 \u00bd to 2 tons<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>B. Empty Tomb \u2013 John 20:2; Luke 24:3; Matthew 28:6; Mark 16:6<\/p>\n<p>C. The Grave Clothes \u2013 John 20:6, 7<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No grave robber would have taken the time to leave behind the grave clothes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>D. The Location of the Tomb \u2013 John 19:41<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Walking distance from Jerusalem<\/li>\n<li>The apostles began preaching the gospel at Jerusalem \u2013 Acts 2:32<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>5. Jesus 1st Resurrection Appearance \u2013 Mary Magdalene \u2013 Mark 16:9; John 20:14-17<\/h3>\n<h3>6. Unbelieving Disciples \u2013 Mark 16:10-13<\/h3>\n<p>A. Mary Magdalene \u2013 vs. 10, 11<br \/>\nB. Two on the road to Emmaus \u2013 vs. 12, 13; Luke 24: 13-33<\/p>\n<h3>7. Jesus Appears to the Eleven Disciples \u2013 Mark 16:14<\/h3>\n<p>He addresses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Their unbelief<\/li>\n<li>Their hardness of heart<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>8.
