{"id":2009,"date":"2019-07-08T13:50:40","date_gmt":"2019-07-08T17:50:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.csbcva.org\/?p=2009"},"modified":"2019-07-08T13:50:42","modified_gmt":"2019-07-08T17:50:42","slug":"stopping-not-sharing-the-gospel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.csbcva.org\/?p=2009","title":{"rendered":"Stopping Not Sharing the Gospel"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Confronting the Reality of Our Disobedience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delivered in the Sunday AM Worship Service 7\/7\/2019<br>Scripture:  John 4:1-39<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>11 Steps to Stopping Not Sharing the Gospel:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em> The majority of this outline is from Pastor Mark Dever&#8217;s book, &#8220;The Gospel and Personal Evangelism&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PRAY &#8211; For opportunities to share the Gospel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">3 Important Requests:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> Opportunity<\/li><li> Willingness<\/li><li> Boldness<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Boldness is:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Boldness is deciding to say something when it would be easier to say nothing.<\/li><li>Boldness is creating opportunities.<\/li><li>Boldness is something you determine to rely on God for.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PLAN &#8211; to make time to build relationships or to put yourself in positions where you know you will be able to talk to non-Christians<br><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ACCEPT &#8211; responsibility for sharing the Gospel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Matthew 28:18-20<\/li><li>Mark 16:15<\/li><li>Luke 24:47-48<\/li><li>John 20:21<\/li><li>Acts 1:8<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>UNDERSTAND &#8211; even if evangelism is not your gift, that it is still your duty<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Be FAITHFUL &#8211; to share the Gospel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Often we can find ourselves:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Too polite to be faithful to God<\/li><li>More concerned about people&#8217;s response than God&#8217;s glory<\/li><li>More concerned about their feelings rather than God&#8217;s<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RISK &#8211; sharing with others regardless of their response<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PREPARE &#8211; yourself; learn how to share the Gospel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LOOK &#8211; for opportunities that God will provide<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Things that interfere with opportunities:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> We are too busy<\/li><li> We are lazy about it<\/li><li> We are unwilling to be inconvenienced<\/li><li> We are selfish<\/li><li> We are Apathetic<\/li><li> We don&#8217;t consider the reality and finality of death, judgment, and hell.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LOVE &#8211; we are called to love others<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We share the Gospel because we love people.
