{"id":366,"date":"2015-08-10T08:52:45","date_gmt":"2015-08-10T12:52:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.csbcva.org\/?p=366"},"modified":"2015-08-13T09:55:13","modified_gmt":"2015-08-13T13:55:13","slug":"either-with-or-against","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.csbcva.org\/?p=366","title":{"rendered":"Either With or Against"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Here are the completed notes from the Sunday Morning Service August 9, 2015:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Scripture: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=luke+11%3A23&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\">Luke 11:23<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Everyone falls into one of two Categories: Either with Christ or Against Christ<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>No neutral position<\/li>\n<li>No choice is in reality a choice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Little Detour &#8211; Revelation 3:14-22<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Verse 15<\/strong> &#8211; <em>&#8220;I know your works&#8221;\/ &#8220;Thou art neither cold nor hot&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;Cold&#8221; &#8211; openly rejecting Christ, lifeless<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Hot&#8221; &#8211; a burning, glowing passion to grow closer to God, serve Him and give Him glory, zealous of good works<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Verse 16<\/strong> &#8211;<em> &#8220;Thou art lukewarm&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is He addressing?<\/strong> He is addressing those in between<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Comfortable<\/li>\n<li>Complacent<\/li>\n<li>Indifferent<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining Status Quo<\/li>\n<li>Lacking zeal with God<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>God&#8217;s Response to Lukewarmness:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Verse 16b <\/strong>&#8211; <em>&#8220;I will spue thee out of my mouth&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why would the Lord say such a thing?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Lukewarmness is not a weakness or a small sin<\/li>\n<li>Lukewarm Christians have done more to harm the cause of Jesus Christ than all prostitutes, pornographers, homosexuals, and drug pushers. When you leave church and do not have a noticeable change there is a problem.<\/li>\n<li>Lukewarm Christians are the alibi of sinners<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&#8220;Lukewarmness is the worst form of blasphemy&#8221; \u00a0&#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/G._Campbell_Morgan\" target=\"_blank\">G. Campbell Morgan<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Back to our Opening Text: Luke 11:23<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Verse 23a<\/strong> &#8211; <em>&#8220;He that is not with me is against me&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>With or Against Christ regarding your eternal salvation. John 1:11-12<\/li>\n<li>With or Against Christ in your daily living\n<ol>\n<li>Your time with God<\/li>\n<li>The use of your resources &#8211; time, treasure, talents<\/li>\n<li>Your conduct at home as well as in public<\/li>\n<li>The attitude you portray<\/li>\n<li>The words you say<\/li>\n<li>How directly your life aligns with the Word of God\n<ol>\n<li>The way you treat your spouse<\/li>\n<li>The way you parent your children &#8211; heart training is important<\/li>\n<li>The way you are at work<\/li>\n<li>The relationships at church<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>With or Against Christ in your service for Him<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>***Are you intentionally using your gifts and abilities to further the purpose of the local church?<\/p>\n<p>***Are you helping people?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Verse 23b<\/strong> &#8211; <em>&#8220;He that gathereth not with me scattereth&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>How we as believers scatter instead of Gather for Christ:<\/h3>\n<p>A. Saying you are one thing and not living as an authentic one<br \/>\nB. Not having an urgency when it comes to reaching the lost<br \/>\nC. Everytime we turn a deaf ear to the voice of the Holy Spirit<br \/>\nD. Not obeying the do&#8217;s of scripture<br \/>\nE. Not intentionally or purposefully working to place the Word of God in the hearts of your children<br \/>\nF.
