Staying Connected and Engaged as a Local Church

Corner Stone Family and Friends,

I trust you are doing well. You may be wondering when we will be gather again as a church? Well, the answer is we aren’t completely sure. Our services are scheduled to begin again on April 5th; however, we aren’t confident at this time if that will happen. Hopefully, by Wednesday April 1st we will have additional insight to make the best decision going forward for our church. Please know that this decision is about gathering is being looked at daily and I take very seriously the responsibility to make the best decision for our people and what the Lord would have us do!

Some of the things that are being considered at this time:

  • What direction is being given by President Donald Trump?
  • What is the extent of the COVID19 problem locally?
  • What are like minded churches in our area doing?
  • What displays the greatest love for one another and our neighbors at this time?
  • What direction do we have in regards to a peace from God? (Colossians 3:15)
  • And yes, we may not always agree with our state government, but what our state government is saying has to be weighed into our decision!

I am considering two Biblical truths on this point:

  1. The need for believers to assemble together (Hebrews 10:24-25)
  2. The mandate to obey governmental authority (Romans 13:1-5)

I ask that you pray with me for God’s direction in regards to when we resume gathering as a local body and what that will look like. From our deacons’ meeting on Thursday, March 26 we identified five options to consider as we look at going forward. Remember that you are loved and we are here for you if you need us!

Because of Jesus and for His Glory,
Pastor Peyton FItzgerald
