Do you know Christ?
How to Have Eternal Life in Heaven
The following outline explains how you can be brought into a right relationship with God and have eternal life in Heaven:
- Understand that based upon God’s Word, a person can absolutely know for sure if he or she has eternal life and is going to Heaven
1 John 5:12, 13 – “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
- Admit that you are a sinner
Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Because of your sin you are separated from God and facing eternal punishment
Romans 6:23a – “For the wages of sin is death”
Revelation 20:14 – And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
- Understand that you cannot earn God’s forgiveness by being good
Ephesians 2:8, 9 – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
James 2:10 – “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”
- Eternal life is only through Jesus Christ
Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
John 14:6 – “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
- Believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sin, was buried and that He arose again
John 3:16-18, 36 – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
Romans 5:8 – “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
1 Corinthians 15:3, 4 – “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
- Receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior
John 1:11, 12 – “He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
Romans 10:9, 10 – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Right Now, where you are, you can receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Are you willing to repent of your sin and believe on Jesus and His work on the cross for your forgiveness?
- Tell God you believe in His Son Jesus and that you believe He died for you and rose again.
- Tell God you are willing to turn from your sin and that you are personally receiving His gift of eternal life through the Lord Jesus Christ.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” – Romans 10:13
